iiMote - User's Guide

Introduction
The iiMote
Mini allows your iPhone or iPod to transmit infrared signal to control your electronic
devices. The iiMote Mini
App supports up to 16 devices. Up-to-date IR remote control codes can be downloaded
from the iiMote.net web site.
You can
take normal phone calls with the iiMote Mini on.
The iiMote
Mini also support IR code learning.
Quick Start
1)
Download the iiMote Mini App from App Store
2)
Plug in the iiMote Mini, and turn the iPhone to full volume.
3) Launch the App and enter your email address and the serial number that comes with the package.
4)
Tap on the setup
icon to add support for your TV and other devices. You can tap
on the [Auto Search] button to find the matching model.
Note: Please leave the
switch at 'P' position so that you can take phone calls without removing the iiMote
Mini.
Adding Devices
You can download the
matching remote control code for each of the 16 devices. Please make sure your
iPhone is online. A Wi-Fi connection is recommended.
1)
To choose the right
model for your device, please select the Device Type and Brand first.
Then select the model
number that matches your device.
2)
If you cannot find the
exact model number, please try one by one from the list. If tapping a [Test]
button can get the right response from your home device, the corresponding model should be the right one.
3)
Finally, tap the [Add]
button to download the selected remote control code.
To speed up the process, you can use the [Auto Search] function. The iiMote will send out the [Mute] command automatically until you tap the [Pause] button after seeing the right response on your TV.
Operation
Please make sure that
the iPhone is not in silent mode, and the volume is 100%.
You
can select the
current device by tapping on [Change] and choosing from the available device list.
Point the iiMote Mini
to the TV or other devices you want to control when tapping on the buttons. The
control
distance is up to 10 meters.
You should hear a very light
beep sound from the iiMote Mini when a button is tapped on.
Taking phone calls
When the switch in Phone
Call (P) position, you can still take phone calls without taking the iiMote Mini
out, because there a small speakers inside the unit. Please remember to turn the
switch to P position after learning.
Learning
If you can not find the
matching IR code for your device, you can learn your existing remote control using
the [Learn] function.
Turn the switch at the
bottom of the iiMote Mini to the Learning (L) position.
Place the remote control
and the iPhone on a table side-by-side, so that
the remote control is pointing to the sensor of the iiMote Mini. During the learning
process, please make sure the remote control and the iPhone are relatively stable.
Tap a button on the iPhone
to learn, then press the corresponding key on the remote control. The button will
turn white if it is learned properly. When finished
learning all the keys, tap [OK] to start processing the learned IR codes.
You can tap the [Test]
button to see if the one key you've just learned works.
Note:
For some remote controls
with strong signals, the iPod App sometimes are activated during learning. This
is because some remote control codes are similar to the iPhone's earphone control
signal. You can ignore the music played in the background and keep on learning.
The music will stop when you learn the next button.
Adjustment
If the keys can turn
white, but the learned code can not control your device, you can tap the [Adjust]
button to enter the Adjustment screen. You can change the Carrier Frequency to see
which one works. When a frequency works, please tap [OK] to use it.
Getting help for learning problem
If after trying all frequency
but none works, you can tap the [Help] button to
upload the learned code to www.iimote.net for
our technical support team to help you.
You will receive emails
for the solution if you have entered your email address during setup.
When your problem is
fixed, there will be a [Fixed] button next to your
device on Device Setup screen. You can then tap the [Fixed] button to download the
good IR codes.
